We host a variety of exciting in-store events for hobbyists of all ages and skill levels! From weekly Mini-Z racing, Tamiya Mini 4WD races to unique birthday parties, there's always something fun happening in our shop. Mini Z Racing
Race every Wednesday from 6–9 PM, May 15 to Sept 17! Practice is open Tuesday (9 AM–9 PM), Wednesday (9 AM–6 PM), and Thursday (9 AM–9 PM).
Pricing:
Full Season:
$120 for your first class, $45 for each additional class (includes all races and practice sessions).
Drop-In:
$5 for practice, $10 per race ($5 for each additional class).
Classes include Box Stock, Kyosho Touring, and Atomic 2WD. Weekly points, prizes, and great competition!

Tamiya Mini 4WD
Mini 4WD cars are affordable, easy to assemble, and an ideal first hobby for both kids and adults. They offer a fun, hands-on activity that parents and children can enjoy together. The real excitement comes from racing and tuning your car to perform better, which sets Mini 4WD apart from other pastimes. At Hobby Hideaway, fans regularly compete in races, sharing tips and strategies. Birthday Parties
Looking for a fun, unique birthday experience? Celebrate with a Tamiya Mini 4WD Racing Party!
Build your own battery powered Mini 4WD car and race it on our three-lane track. Each guest receives a Tamiya Mini 4WD kit to assemble and decorate at the party with help from the Hobby Hideaway Team. The best part, each guest gets to take their Mini 4WD car home at the end of the day!
Starting at $320, base price is for 8 guests and includes a Mini 4WD kit and 4 AA batteries per kit. Additional guests are $40 each.
Our Story
Our story begins with Jeff, a passionate builder and enthusiast who turned his love for tinkering into a haven for fellow hobbyists.
Jeff's journey into the world of hobbies started with a fascination for putting things together. From his early days, he found joy in the intricate assembly of models and the adrenaline rush of racing RC cars. His favourites, the Tamiya TT02 and the Kyosho Mini Z, hold a special place in his heart, igniting his passion for the hobby world.
With a background in retail management and fueled by his own love of hobbies, Jeff envisioned a store that not only provided enthusiasts with the best products but also fostered a sense of community and inclusivity. And thus, Hobby Hideaway was born.
